CRG Medical partners with TEXAS A&M for Rural Health Occurrence Reporter.
In January of 2006, TAMU Health Science Center’s Rural and Community Health Institute partnership with CRG Medical Inc., and the CRG Medical Foundation rolled out a project to bring the RCHI’s target hospitals and physicians an easy to use but sophisticated set of event reporting tools for both practitioners and patients and their families, building upon RCHI’s current role as a Service Center for rural facilities and physicians.
The Rural Health Occurrence Reporter (RHOR)
The Rural Health Occurrence Reporter (RHOR) is an online web based data entry tool developed with TAMU RCHI, designed to meet the needs of rural healthcare. The RHOR differentiates between near-miss events, no-harm incidents, incidents with harm, and sentinel events. Unlike most other systems, it collects text and coded text data on both contributing and intervening factors. As designed, it is easy to use by office personnel, with only limited technical or computer skills needed. A set of standard web-based reports has been developed, to be distributed by the RCHI staff, confidentiality being maintained at all times.
